35 layers of steel were forged on both sides of a core of stainless steel. These layers consist alternately of strong, high-carbon material and soft, low-carbon material. The result is a Damascene design. Damascene blades feature high edge retention and elasticity. The distinctive appearance of the blade is complemented by the elegant interlays and the unadorned back made of stainless steel.
